Mission: Our mission is to offer a diverse group of horror (dark fantasy, dark gothic, dark historical, dark mystery) writers, artists, cover artists, editors, and poets a place to belong and connect. We celebrate horror in all forms and wish to help build relationships, share information, give support, and reward excellent works. The Yaggies, named for the Baba Yaga award, is based upon Debut Novel, Novel of the Year, Novella of the Year, Short Story of the Year, Anthology of the Year, Cover of the Year, Art of the Year, Poem, and Best Audio Book. All members are welcome to any HAG events.
Our views:
1. We are dedicated to vetting publishers to protect authors from vanity presses or presses that ask for money for any reason.
2. We are against "reading fees" or "entry fees".
3. Within our grievance section, we will make a stand. We will not tolerate bullying (cyber or real), terrorism, sexual (or other) harassment, threats, shaming, racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination.
4. While we stand by the above, we also will not accept "virtue signaling", political or social rants on our pages, or demands for “political correctness” that goes against freedom of the written word. We also do not support any material that promotes hatred or fear.
5. We firmly believe in the freedom and honesty of writing as an art form not to be infringed upon.
6. Socio-economics, culture, race, age, sex, gender, religion, and politics have no bearing on HAG, and we ask for respect for all.
7. Some members may be underage (we require 14 and up), we will not tolerate pedophilia.
8. We will alert to suicidal/ harmful threats as the law dictates.
9. We will remain compliant with the law in terms of cooperating as needed.
10. At any HAG event, we ask members to not only act in safe ways but to also remain vigilant and to help others feel safe at all times.
11. Order of complaint: Grievance officer -> Board -> Vice-President
12. HAG will look into unlawful or unethical actions only if the person complaining is a member, presents a grievance, and submits appropriate and compelling evidence. Stalking, theft, bullying, illegal activities, breach of contract, and scams are examples of what might be a grievance.
13. Altering our logo is not allowed. A member may use the logo is a member in good standing, but it remains the property of HAG. Alterations of a malicious type could result in legal action but will certainly result in the  immediate loss of membership. Members ONLY may use the logo on websites, etc.

Board: The President shall designate members of the Board to serve until they resign membership of HAG. They can be removed by a majority vote of the Board and president. The Board shall be made up of four members.
1.The Board shall have the final decision based on evidence and proof submitted. If needed, a board member may "carry" another's vote, and the president may vote to form a majority vote.
2.HAG will look into any activity that goes against our terms of service, and a serious act may result in suspension or termination. Any member may be suspended or terminated by a majority vote of the HAG Board.
3.President or Vice-president: Shall fill any role that is vacated until an election can take place. If the president acts in an opposing way against the interests of HAG, he must be presented with a letter from the Board and allowed to respond. If the vote is unanimous, he may be removed (Vice-president shall vote with Board).
4.If other officers act in an opposing way against the interests of HAG, that person must be presented with a letter from the Board and allowed to respond. If the vote is unanimous, he may be removed (President and Vice-president shall vote with Board, the person (if on the Board will abstain). In a tie vote, the president will carry two votes.
